29-31 January 2024, Bangkok – A team from MIT Media Lab visited DTGO to help create amazing virtual experiences in the forest at The Forestias.

The US university lab is installing technology to connect residents and visitors to a thrilling metaverse adventure.

Prof. Pattie Mae, head of the Fluid Interfaces Group at the lab, led a team of MIT students who are installing prototype “ChatGPTree” sensors.

These sensors can collect information from the environment such as temperature, pressure, light, sound, and soil moisture. Avatars will use the information to welcome and guide visitors to the forest.

The Forestias is a forest district across 158 acres at Bangna. The new neighborhood combines homes with amenities for leisure, learning, dining, shopping, and healthcare.

Under MQDC’s founding principle of “For All Well-Being”, the sustainable district will enhance both human and environmental well-being.
