21 October 2025 CSR
21 October 2025, Phetchaburi - Blue Carbon Society welcomed students from Singapore Management University (SMU) on a study visit Sustainable Mangrove Management and Coastal Ecosystem Development in Phetchaburi Province at Mangrove Ecosystem Conservation Center, Bang Tabun Wittaya School.
The delegation visited the Bang Tabun Subdistrict Municipality to learn about its activities and operations. They participated in a field study of the marine and coastal ecosystem and engaged in discussions about lifestyle, tourism, and environmental conservation with local entrepreneurs, specifically the "Eat Sleep Travel" at Bang Tabun group.
This project is a collaboration between the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) under the Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN) project, and the Blue Carbon Society. This partnership resulted in a master plan for mangrove and community development, research into rehabilitating salt-affected soil in former salt-farm areas, and the promotion of sustainable ecotourism.
The Bang Tabun community will serve as one of the model areas for the community development planning project by the students from Singapore Management University (SMU).
Blue Carbon Society is a non-profit supported by DTGO to protect the coastal and marine ecosystems vital for countering climate change.
