The award was presented by Professor Dr. Anek Laothamatas, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) at the STARTUP x INNOVATION THAILAND EXPO 2021 held by National Innovation Agency (NIA).

“Prime Minister Award: National Startup” has been given for 5 years. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, NIA introduced the new award for innovation in crisis to honor those involved in inventing, developing, and supporting innovations to help overcome the crisis.

Obodroid has developed service robots and artificial intelligence (AI) technology with partners for the “Kaitomm Hospital” telepresence app, which can help protect medical teams from infection and help citizens to access services conveniently and fast.

Kaitomm Hospital will be adapted for use in field operations to connect medical staff, patients, and hospitals. The app reduces contact and increases the effectiveness of healthcare by easing interactive communication by video for follow-up treatment. It can also be used for remote monitoring of patients like mobile CCTV.
