DTGO’s Urban Action Team Holds Rattanakosin Island Workshop

28–31 July 2020, Bangkok – The Urban Action Team of DTGO’s Strategic Corporate Social Contribution department, led by Asst. Prof. Pongporn Sudbanthad, DTGO advisor, and Mr. Santi Sombatwichatorn, senior urban architect, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Pechladda Pechpakdee from Mahasarakham University, held a research workshop about Rattanakosin Island.
28–31 July 2020, Bangkok – The Urban Action Team of DTGO’s Strategic Corporate Social Contribution department, led by Asst. Prof. Pongporn Sudbanthad, DTGO advisor, and Mr. Santi Sombatwichatorn, senior urban architect, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Pechladda Pechpakdee from Mahasarakham University, held a research workshop about Rattanakosin Island.
At the event at Whizdom Club in True Digital Park, the Urban Action Team shared its processes for masterplanning a ‘Diligent City’ canal area in Bangkok with 50 architecture students studying Urban Design and Creative Arts at Mahasarakham University.
Government and private-sector organizations such as Assajan Collective, ICONSIAM, Department of City Planning and Urban Development, BEYOND CITY shared information and held outdoor activities to help the students research the area’s culture, community, and economy, preparing them to collaborate with public and private organizations in the future.
DTGO’s Urban Team assists canalside communities by helping masterplan homes and infrastructure to ensure they enjoy can economic opportunities and sustainable quality of life.
The team’s efforts at Ladprao canal were honored last year with an ‘Excellence in CSR Projects’ award from the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand.
