Dr. Singh helps launch 'Clean Air Christmas Tree' at Siam Center

3 December 2019, Bangkok - MQDC's Research & Innovation for Sustainability Center (RISC) and the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) joined Siam Discovery to debut a 'Clean Air Christmas Tree' at Siam Center's famous year-end display.

RISC Chief Advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Singh Intrachooto helped launch the tree, which houses 4 electrostatic air purifiers that together filter 5,000 m3 of air each hour to remove harmful PM2.5 particulates.

The striking design, part of the Siam Discovery's 'Magical Eco Playground' is decorated with white turbines made of 1,000 leaves of paper, measuring 70x50 cm, coated in bioplastic made from sugarcane, corn, and cassava.

The installation will later be relocated to provide clean air for sporting events at Chulalongkorn and Thammasat universities.
