22 Sep 2020DTGO CSR
22 September 2020, Bangkok – MQDC’s latest “LIVING FORWARD by MQDC” podcast presents an innovative carpet that protects homes from infections such as COVID-19.
The episode features Assoc. Prof. Dr. Singh Intrachooto, Chief Advisor of MQDC’s Research & Innovation for Sustainability Center (RISC).
MQDC, the property developer within DTGO, set up and supports the center to raise standards across the sector. RISC promotes well-being and sustainability in design and building through its research and its publicly accessible resources including the country’s leading eco-materials library.
RISC is partnering with Carpet Maker Thailand, which also worked with the center on upcycling last year, to keep homes free from pathogens and bacteria in the 'New Normal'.
Dr. Krisana Sukbunsathit, CEO of Carpet Maker Thailand, explains how the company is changing the belief that carpets are a source of germs. AVA Carpet disinfects, protecting from serious contagious diseases, COVID-19, and allergies caused by dust mites.
AVA Carpet eliminate germs and bacteria with Nano Ions, mixed with fibers in the spinning process for long-lasting hygienic properties. The carpet can stop the multiplication of coronaviruses, whether COVID-19, MERS, and SARS, by more than 90%. It interferes with their protein production process and eliminates proteins that surround viruses, so most die immediately.
MQDC, reflecting its focus on 'For All Well-Being', has installed AVA Carpet in all its sales galleries to build consumer confidence.
