“Forest for Life” Teaches Market Gardening at Nakhon Pathom

24 August 2020, Nakhon Pathom – “Forest for Life” joined with plant nurseries to give training in market gardening to its participants at 39 plots in Ban Prom Suk Housing Cooperative (Bang Len) and 22 plots in Bang Kaeo Fah Housing Cooperative (Nakhon Chai Si).
“Forest for Life” is an initiative under The Forestias, the flagship development by MQDC to create a green district for healthy living on 243 rai at Bangna-Trad KM7.
The project aims to grow 1.2 million plants over 3 months. The Forestias by MQDC has allocated THB25 million, assisting 1,000 families with THB15 million and buying plants with THB10 million.
To help people affected by the COVID-19 crisis and enhance quality of life by providing sustainable likelihoods, the project has achieved collaboration in the community.
Mr. Somchai Meelak gave expert insights on tending and raising seedlings. “Forest for Life” representatives gave financial support to people in the community.
The project and all those involved aim to enhance quality of life by helping to develop job skills, improve incomes, and reduce household expenses so we can overcome this challenge together.
The initiative is working with the Community Organizations Development Institute (CODI) to find communities and homeless groups to participate too.
