Bangkok explores new routes to well-being

A Bangkok forum has highlighted innovative health-boosting efforts in fields from theater to furniture.The 10 speakers at Creative Citizens, at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) on Saturday, spotlighted initiatives such as The Blind Theatre’s shows for blindfolded audiences and The Charapaabs pop band’s songs about aging.
Architect Dr Singh Intrachooto, chief advisor for the Bangkok-based Research & Innovation for Sustainability Center (RISC), said the event reflected a drive to meld new technology with traditional Thai values."Designers should seek innovative solutions to enhance health and well-being,” he said.“At Creative Citizens, I will be sharing design-led solutions from stress-relief toolkits to elderly tableware, to healthy shoes, to bed-bound glove design, all of which aim at improving quality of life, which is the DNA of RISC, our new research center that focuses on ‘sustainnovation’ for all well-being."
